ALAG Camp - Grrrrrrr!
Posted about 1 year ago.
Check my schedule for Asheville and Nashville dates in June and July! For the most part, I am taking a performing break this summer to work with helping others find their voice.
I will be working at camps for young girls. One is a Creativity and Expression camp for teenage girls in Nashville, TN. It is called "Act Like A Grrrl". We will work together to find our voice from our truest self through in-the-moment improvisation and group work. The girls spend their time doing a lot of writing, telling their unique story, and at the end of camp there is a performance put on by the girls incorporating words, movement, music and visual arts. I have seen it every year and it is so powerful!
I have worked briefly with this camp in the past and helped with fund-raising, but this will be my first time as a co-leader with a daily musical agenda, and I'm so excited! Each girl has so much to share with the world, and the goal is to give them the support, tools and confidence to get out there and be themselves. I wish this had been around for me as a teenager. If this concept inspires you, consider making a contribution to the ALAG organization. For more info, visit www.actlikeagrrrl.com
Expect some tours, new music and fresh inspiration from me in the fall and winter of this year! Yee-haw!
